Get Well Soon!

My good pal Rusty from the MSE card forum has been in a great deal of pain recently and has, thankfully I think, been taken into hspital to try and help her a bit.  I've made this card to try and cheer her up using a freebie digi from "Meljens designs".  Life seems to have been throwing her a lot of lemons recently ;-)

The background papers are from basic grey - cupcake, the ribbon, flowers, sentiment and snaps from my stash.  I made my own ribbon slider using a nestie cut oval and some judicious slits with my craft knife.

Whilst I was in the middle of that my Mum called to say my Granny has been taken into hospital with a suspected stroke.  She was due to go on holiday tomorrow poor love  but hopefully they'll be able to get her back on her feet in time for her birthday party in July.
I couldn't resist using my new cricut cartridge - paisley - for this one.  I love Russian dolls - you'll be seeing many more of these on my creations!

Get well wishes to anyone else who needs them - I'm hoping I won't have to make any more get well cards for a long while.

2 out of 4 aint bad........

Realised today that I had 4 cards to make this weekend (technically one should have been done for last Thursday) but, as always, when you add cardmaking to a to-do list it takes all the fun out of it so I've been struggling.

Anyhow, I've made the 2 most-urgent ones.

First up, a wedding card which I'm making to order for a friend at work. The colour for the wedding is Royal Blue so I've tried to colour co-ordinate it a bit. Will need to do an insert for it too but I'm going to ask for help with that as I don;t knwo the bride and groom. I've used thick mulberry paper down the left hand-sdie and a little scrap of paper I had "Swiss dotted" velum in the apertures. I can't go a whole day without using that cuttlebug if I'm crafting! The topper is from some stash received from the lovely Mrs Tidge in a crafty place stash swap.

Seond one is a get-well card for a work colleague who fell down the stairs last weekend and has damaged her back. The green paper is a left over from the scrapbooking layout I did at the craft den the other week. The lace border paper is by DCWV. Thanks again to Mrs Tidge for the topper on this card too.

Mum's on the Mend

Mum's out of hospital.

They kept her in overnight because they were worried because she couldn't remember anyhing about her fall - she fell of a wall in the garden - about 3ft tall - cut her head open and cracked some ribs.

I couldn't visit her as the hospital has a rule that no children are allowed on the wards- I can see their point in some ways but really what's a single Mum to do when she needs to visit someone!

This is the 'Get Well' card that I made for her in lieu of a visit. I made it using stash from the Crafty place stash swap - Thanks Toni!

You can't really tell but its decoupage - I love the card blank - its pearlescent pink.

Couple more cards

A couple of quickies a get well card for Mum's next door neighbour and a 'spare' for the card box at work. I checked today and I've sold 9 cards. It's gonna be a long time before I'm a millionaire but its a start!
