3 cards in one night

Blimey! I've had one of those realisation moments where you know you have a lot of things to do but don't actually realise how much until you write them down.

So I've crossed a few cards of the 'to-do- list.

First up, a card for a friends Nan - thanks to the MSE girls for their help in giving me some inspiration for this card. You can't get much more inspirational than a page of templates and a picture to copy. There are 2 views of this card as it is supposed to be a shaped card but it seemed a bit wobbly so I've mounted it on a card blank for stability.

Secondly, a baby card for the same friend Her friend is due to have a baby boy whilst I'm on holiday so I said I'd get it ready before I left just in case.

Thirdly, a dinosaur card for my nephew. Guess how old he will be? It's not actually his birthday until September but his mum has to go away for a few months for her job so she'll miss his "official birthday". He's going to be like the queen and have 2 birthdays this year.

Glückwünsche!

My sis called me from Germany this lunchtime to tell me that her interview was a success and she'll be starting a new job teaching over there next January.
She's back home tomoz so I had to get work quickly on a congratulations card. She'll have to get going learning German so I thought I'd give her a head start. My german is v limited - I only remember 2 songs from my German gcse! One about having an auntie in Morocco and one about about the hat with corners. Had to go to google translate to find the German word for 'congratulations' .
~Edit - just realised I'd forgotten the umlauts (sp?) - they're on now.
The flowery paper is one of my faves - I only have half a sheet left now (sob!). ITs from Cosmo Cricket's jitterbug range.

Hamlet Scrapbook Layout - At last!

I've been putting off doing my first post as I was unsure whether to try and post chronologically (as I made things) or not. I have a backlog of things I'd like to post but have decided to start with my newest creation and 'catch-up' with the backlog as and when I can.

This layout has been on my table for what seems like ages but I seemed to have some kind of mental block. Either that or looking at the pictures sent me off into some kind of dream land so I never got anything done.

Finally though, I've done it. Not 100% happy with it as the pages seem a bit bare but its growing on me and, to be honest, it was starting to become a bit of an albatross around my neck.

I decided to brave it and attempt some tearing and patching )Thanks to Lynne at the Craft Den for the inspiration. The letters are cutout from word-art and could be a bit neater. I'd have liked to have inked the edges with some distress inks but as I haven't actually convinced myself that they are essential ~(yet!) I've managed without.
